Today is Friday infra Hebdomadam IIam post Octavam Paschae, that is, post Pascha; at some point one drops the post Octavam and begins counting simply post Pascha. In the 1923 Missale this Misericordia Domini Sunday is secunda post Pascha. 

It is a feria in Paschaltide, and at Le Barroux the Mass of Sunday was sung, Misericordia Domini plena est terra alleluia. Someone on X yesterday commented that it was his favorite, presumably meaning his favorite Introit. The Alleluia Ego sum pastor bonus is specially lovely, to my mind, certainly, but I can't do the sort of analysis that Neumz do in order to identify why this might be.

Troubles at home, I'm afraid. The new medication doesn't seem to me (after three days of it I guess it is just one day; who knew one was supposed to use the cuff before taking the morning medication) to be doing much to move the blood pressure numbers into the target range, tsk, which means that a second medication will be started at the end of this fortnight's experiment. 

And I went out last evening before retiring to bed (to read about Archie Goodwin's capers in the current Nero Wolfe novel) and saw a rat scurrying off from the dog food dish so took it into my head to do some shooting. Alas, I carelessly managed to shoot a steel pellet into the fixed glass door (the sliding door was closed most of the way i.e. the dogs have to have a way in and out), shattering it. It is all of it still in the doorframe but it will have to be replaced, five or six hundred dollars that I can ill afford. 

And the landlady had gone off earlier, in the late afternoon, to the hospital emergency room due to 'heart flutters'. She (a former nurse) was, foolishly, hoping not to be admitted. We shall see if she returns today. I see this morning that I missed a telephone call from her yesterday at 1630; she was waiting at that time for the ministrations of the ER people to begin, I gather. No idea what one does to counter 'heart flutters'. The treatment probably includes the avoidance of shattered glass doors.
