I neglected to push the 'publish' button yesterday, tsk.
Today is the Vigil of the solemn feast of Our Lord's Nativity, on the 4th Sunday in Advent; in the Missale Romanum, in this case the Mass is of the Vigil, Hodie scietis. Evidently, under the 1920 rubrics, anyway, the Last Gospel is omitted; Holy Mass is streamed from Saint-Eugène at 0200, and so we shall see when I get to that (not going to be at two, alas). At Barroux, their missal apparently provides for this circumstance (but I'm going to guess that it is Hodie scietis there, too). What the Pauline Rite folks (i.e. at the parish downtown; Mass is at 0800) will do is anyone's guess (I exaggerate of course: I'm sure the Mass will be celebrated properly according to the Pauline rubrics-- but I have no idea what they prescribe; probably Hodie scietis with, however, the customary 'options').

At Barroux, the antiphon at Terce is Hódie sciétis quia véniet Dóminus: et mane vidébitis glóriam eius, which seems not to be at Gregobase. Hmm. This is the responsorium from Matins instead, in the Dominican form (which, also strangely) is the only version at Gregobase; it may be, simply, that no one has gotten around to uploading the antiphon or the Roman responsoria.
At Barroux, the Asperges was done, as usually on a Sunday: it did momentarily startle me, tsk, since I suppose I wasn't expecting it. Time for Prime and Prime de Beata, which includes, for the final time this Advent, the Rorate caeli desuper (the missa sicca, a mediaeval devotion comprising much of the text of the Mass not belonging exclusively to the sacrificial Actio: orations and lessons, chiefly, as well as the 'third lesson', the beginning of Saint John's Gospel). Tomorrow, the missa sicca becomes again the 'default' Salve sancta Parens.

The recentior includes an adaptation of this, making the dating of the years and historical persons vague enough to accord with the reigning opinions about the age of the world and so forth; I have no real problem with that in the one sense although I myself would never use it because I'm quite capable of making such precisions in my little brain without mutilating an ancient liturgical text.
Have decided that I will add the video recordings from Saint-Eugène when they become available but may not do my usual notice of individual pieces of music and so forth. This morning's trip downtown (and the Pauline Rite Mass et cetera) is already taxing my patience with life, ha; will restrain myself from recounting the details.

I don't know about the Gloria: in a 'normal' Vigil Mass it is omitted but, based on how the Alleluia and Credo are treated infra, perhaps it is sung; I find it odd that the rubrics for this Mass say nothing about it, though, were this the case.
