Clear by 0700 i.e. 45 minutes before sunrise. Hmm. The magi stellae fuscae are being shut down (on the iPad anyway) at the new year so I bit the bullet so to say and put two new covens onto that machina-- Accuweather and Weather Channel (I believe; did this some days ago). Dark Sky (don't ask why I thought Dark Star--only this moment has this occurred to me-- was an appropriate Latin version; don't ask) is much more appealing in its presentation and appearance than either of them, alas, so I reckon it was doomed to disappear as the behemoths go forward in their progress. This morning, in my own chapel, as it were (i.e. standing before my little image of the Crucified One with Divinum Officium open or, rarely, the breviary), as the Office of the Vigil was said so the Mass likewise ought to be celebrated but we shall see in five hours what is done at Saint-Eugène; doubtless the priest will say Omnia quae fecisti of Sunday with (best case) commemoration of the Holy Apostles. Pius XII or his lackeys suppressed the Vigil (and most vigils) in 1955.
Pater Thomas SJ is vested in green, so I'm confident that it is Omnia quae fecisti Domine (you can consult Wednesday's post, if you like to see the text). This infra is the Mass of Saints Simon and Thaddaeus.
Collecta.
1. Cor. 4, 9-14.
Mane te in me : et ego in vobis. Sicut palmes non potest ferre fructum a semetípso, nisi mánserit in vite : sic nec vos, nisi in me manséritis. Ego sum vitis, vos pálmites : qui manet in me, et ego in eo, hic fert fructum multum : quia sine me nihil potéstis fácere.
Offertorium. Ps. 149, 5-6. Exsultábunt Sancti in glória, lætabúntur in cubílibus suis : exaltatiónes Dei in fáucibus eórum, allelúia.
Secreta. Munéribus nostris, Dómine, sanctórum Apostolórum tuórum Simónis et Iudæ festa præcédimus : te supplíciter deprecántes ; ut, quæ consciéntiæ nostræ præpediúntur obstáculis, illórum méritis grata reddántur. Per Dóminum.
Communio. Ps. 78, 2 et 11. Posuérunt mortália servórum tuórum, Dómine, escas volatílibus cæli, carnes Sanctórum tuórum béstiis terræ : secúndum magnitúdinem bráchii tui pósside fílios morte punitórum.
Postcommunio.
