A lovely bright Pentecost Sunday, as is only fitting. I went out last evening to the 'Vigil Mass' at the parish; the benediction of the font, the blessing of the Holy Chrism, the Litanies, all of that has been stripped out of the 'Vigil Mass' in the Pauline Rite. The less said of it the better. In any event, after the fussing and nonsense required in that adventure I didn't rise at 0145 for Saint-Eugène's Mass, which I'm watching now-- well, Fr Grodziski is homilizing.
It is also the feast of Saint Giovanni Battista (18th century), of Saint Desiderius (4th century), and of Saint Spes (6th century).
V. Et álibi aliórum plurimórum sanctórum Mártyrum et Confessórum, atque sanctárum Vírginum. R. Deo grátias.
