The Cincinnati Symphony collaborated with Sir James MacMillan on some project or another-- I vaguely recall seeing that this was happening, last year perhaps-- although he's not involved in the subject of the 'alerted' article: which ended up being of interest to me because (I will confess) I hadn't realized that Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man was commissioned by Maestro Eugene Goossens for the CSO. This seems like something I ought to have at least heard about as I was growing up not far from Fountain Square.
Sir James does a great fanfare, too-- that is their current project, commissions for 60 second fanfares, keeping the composers in work during the plague.
